I am writing because I need your prayers, this has been such a special group that is, and has been, so encouraging with prayer. For the first time since "I woke up" I am having pain. I am not crying all day doubled over in pain or anything, right now its very manageable, but I am having a lot of back pain. Long time ago as many of you remember during my illness I broke 4 vertebrae in my lumbar area. At first it was horrible pain, but now its healed and only gave me occasional discomfort. But recently, I don't know why, i has been really hurting a lot more. I got a new mattress, that is supposed to be better, but unfortunately it does not seem to help. Which means no sleep for Charity. I am filled with pretty much constant pain when I'm sleeping and for the last week can hardly bear the thought of laying down to sleep. The big picture here is that its affecting my standing, my back starts to spasm and I can't stand very well. So all that to say, please pray for this, I don't want to lose any progress I've made because of my stupid back.

From Ecuador, we have followed your blog since the beginning and today your parents were sharing with us about the pain you are experiencing. I am so sorry to hear that and we will be praying for relief and for wisdom for the doctors to find out why.

Sometimes ice can numb the pain. I have had lots of back problems in the past. Advil and ice helps...any stress can only aggravate it.

I AGREE WITH JOYCE ABOUT SEEING A DOCTOR. EXERCISE DOES HELP BY STRETCHING THOSE MUSCLES. THE THING THAT HELPS ME MOST ARE EPIDUALS. I SHALL BE PRAYING FOR YOU, THOSE NIGHTS SEEM LIKE THEY WILL NEVER END!

Charity, I'm so, so sorry. This is so puzzling. You made it through a pregnancy without that lumbar area hurting you. Joyce has good advice, try to get to the bottom of this. We will be praying and get the missionaries here in Ecuador to pray for you too.
Love Dad

I am so sorry to hear about the back pain. I can identify with you in a very personal way. Any idea of what happened to cause this? How much rehab are you doing now? I will surely be praying for you, and that you can get the pain under control. But you do need to find out what is causing the pain. Those spasms can be awful, and the cycle is hard to break. I will be praying that you can rest decently at night--I know how it is to go without sleep. You need your rest in order to cope with the daily grind! Be assured that many will be praying for you on this end. Glad also to hear about the vehicles.

Oh, Charity. Thank you for sharing so that we can pray. It seems so wrong that instead of being able to look forward to bedtime as a time to rest and rejuvenate in preparation for a new day, all you can anticipate is pain. And not being able to stand properly because of spasms must be incredibly frustrating too. Praying for endurance and relief for you.
